Admissions Criteria by Program

Bachelors of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) Program Admissions Requirements

  1. Complete an application (including a $30.00 non-refundable fee)
  2. Submit your college transcripts 
  3. Achieve at least a "B" in all pre-requisites and General Education courses
  4. Complete a criminal background check 
  5. Provide evidence of current immunizations, including Hepatitis B (Waiver not accepted), MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria (Td), Varicella, PPD/chest x-ray, drug screens, and flu vaccine 
  6. Provide evidence of a physical exam
  7. Submit a current resume 
  8. Provide a copy of current RN license (must have license prior to the starting of the nursing program)

Registered Nursing Associate Degree Program Admissions Requirements

  1. Complete an application (including a $30.00 non-refundable fee) 
  2. Satisfactory performance on pre-entrance exam ($12 exam fee non-refundable) 
  3. Provide proof of Identification (Government issued)
  4. Provide evidence of GED, high school diploma, and/or college degree (minimum of associate’s degree).  
  5. Records from secondary schools outside the United States must be written in English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation agency.
  6. Obtain a criminal background check (Must be conducted through a through a company approved by Global Health College)
  7. Provide evidence of a physical exam 
  8. Interview with Admissions Committee

Clinical Requirements

  1. Provide evidence of current immunizations, including Hepatitis B (Waiver not accepted), MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria (Td), Varicella, PPD/chest x-ray, drug screens, and flu vaccine 
  2. Obtain a 10-panel drug screen (Must be obtained through a GHC approved company)
  3. Valid CPR certification (American Heart Association only)

Registered nursing students must complete clinical requirements 2 weeks prior to starting Fundamentals course.  

Practical Nursing Diploma Program Admissions Requirements

  1. Complete an application (including a $30.00 non-refundable application fee) 
  2. Satisfactory performance on pre-entrance exam ($12 exam fee non-refundable) 
  3. Provide proof of identification (government issued)
  4. Provide evidence of GED, high school diploma, and/or college degree (minimum of Associates degree).  
  5. Records from secondary schools outside the United States must be written in English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation agency.

  7. Provide evidence of a physical exam

  4. Provide evidence of a physical exam
  5. Provide evidence of current immunizations, including Hepatitis B (Waiver not accepted), MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria (Td), Varicella, PPD/chest x-ray, drug screens, and flu vaccine 
  6. Undergo a 10-panel drug screen (Must be obtained through a company approved by Global Health College).
  7. Obtain a criminal background check (Must be conducted through a company approved by Global Health College)

Medication Aide Certificate Program Admissions Requirements*

  1. Complete an application (including a $30.00 non-refundable application fee)
  2. Satisfactory performance on pre-entrance exam ($37.00 exam fee non-refundable)   
  3. Must be 17 years of age
  4. Provide evidence of a Physical Exam
  5. Provide evidence of current immunizations, including Hepatitis B (Waiver not accepted), MMR, Tetanus-diphtheria (Td), Varicella, PPD/chest x-ray, drug screens, and flu vaccine
  6. Undergo a 10-panel drug screen (Must be obtained through a GHC approved company).
  7. Obtain a criminal background check. (Must be conducted  through a company approved by Global Health College)
  8. Valid CPR certification (American Heart Association only)
  9. Interview with Admissions Committee

*Must be a Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) to apply to the Medication Aide Program

Gateway to Nursing Program Admissions Requirements 

  1. Complete an application (including a $70.00 non-refundable fee) 
  2. High School Diploma /GED  
  3. Minimum of 2.5 GPA (not weighted)
  4. Applicant parent/guardian signatures required, if applicant is younger than 18 years old 
  5. Minimum ACT score of 19 or minimum SAT score of 1400* (If candidate had not taken ACT or SAT they must take and pass pre-entrance exam ($12.00 non-refundable fee)
  6. Submit a written essay of 500–750 words detailing why the applicant is a good candidate for this program and why they want to become a nurse.  
  7. Two professional letters of recommendation (not from family members) 
  8. Interview by the Admissions Committee
  9. Provide proof of MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella vaccination or immunity, and flu vaccine
  10. Obtain an annual 10-panel drug test (Must be conducted through GHC approved company)
  11. Provide proof of CPR Certification (Must be certified by American Heart Association)
  12. Obtain a criminal background check (Must be conducted through a company approved by Global Health College)
  13. Provide evidence of Physical exam

*If an applicant has taken the SAT after February 2016, the required scores will be different and based on the new SAT score requirement for the Gateway to Nursing Program.
